a world- class facility in the Coimbatore Golf Club, Celebrating
its silver jubilee year in 2002, the golf course has excellent
fairways and some of the fastest greens in the country.
The wind is a major factor here and can tatter any scorecard.
The
course, a brainchild of Mr.K. Rajagopal, President of the
Indian Golf Union for several years, was commissioned in
1977 with just four browns, but is a par-72 course with
18 superbly-maintained greens today.

The
Coimbatore Golf Club was started in
the year 1977. Leading Coimbatore Industrialist K.Rajagopal of
the the Lakshmi Mills Group, is the main person behind this big
endeavor of bringing quality golf to Coimbatore. The present course
at Chettipalayam is located 16 kilometers from the coimbatore
city and is accessible by various roads. Its strategic location
helps people from other cities to regularly visit and play golf.
Coimbatore
Golf Club has adopted innovative techniques in waste
recycling water and using recycled water to help contribute to
the environment. The course is rich of more than 50 species of
birds and a host
to large number peacocks.
